Your investments can easily be linked to other facilities such as Foreign Currency Accounts (FCAs).
Products
Call Deposits
- These are deposits accepted for an unspecified period of time.
- Payable on demand from the client.
- Attract varying interest rates which are market related.
- Interest rates can change downward or upward at any time in line with changes in the market rates.
- Interest is payable on the last day of the month.
Fixed Deposits
- These are deposits fixed for specified periods ranging from 7 days to 365 days during which, undisturbed by any withdrawals, your money earns you the highest returns.
- Standard investment periods are 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 up to 365 days.
- Quotes for periods less than 30 days are available.
- Interest rates on the fixed deposits are usually higher than the call rates.
- Interest rate is fixed over the entire period of the investment.
- Interest is payable on maturity.
Negotiable Certificate Of Deposits (NCDs)
- NCDs are certificates issued by Agribank as evidence of deposits.
- NCDs are issued for a specified period and at a specific rate.
- They are negotiable instruments. This makes them attractive to an investor as an alternative to money market placings.
- Yield on the NCDs is usually lower than that of fixed deposits.
- On maturity NCDs are payable to the bearer hence utmost care must be exercised in taking custody of them.
- NCDs can be issued for periods between 7 to 180 days.
Treasury Bills(TBs)
- They are short-term negotiable instruments issued by the Government Of Zimbabwe through the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to finance government short term requirements.
- They are issued for periods ranging from 30 to 365 days.
- They are fully guaranteed obligations of the Government of Zimbabwe.
- TBs are considered as the less risky of all Treasury products as they are guaranteed by Government.
Bankers' Acceptances(BAs)
- BAs are bills of exchange drawn by Zimbabwe's private sector to finance various transactions for specified periods at an agreed rate and then accepted by Agribank as an obligation in our books to the bearer on behalf of borrowing clients.
- BAs are negotiable instruments hence they are traded on the secondary market once accepted by the bank.
Withholding Tax
- All treasury products are subject to a 15% withholding tax on interest earned.
- It is the responsibility of investors to prove in writing that they are exempt to this tax otherwise the over riding assumption is that every one is taxable.
Minimum Amount For Investments
- The minimum amount required for money market investments is USD 50 000.00 for Corporates and USD 10 000.00 for Individuals

- Agribank is an Authorized Dealer in Foreign currencies of Zimbabwe's major trading partners. Phone our Treasury or approach any of our countrywide branches for any foreign currency transaction or remittance.
